How to Do a Left Handed US Half Double Crochet

US Half Double Crochet (HDC) is also known as UK Half Treble Crochet (HTR/HTRC)

you should already have your foundation chain done, or have the row you’re working into ready. For this stitch, you’ll either be working underneath ‘V’ you can see pointed out by the arrow in step 1 (the stitch) or into a space between stitches, depending on what your pattern calls for.

Step 1: Identify the stitch or space you’ll be working into. The arrow above shows what the top of the stitch looks like.

Step 2: Yarn Over (YO) around your hook.

Step 3: Insert your hook into the stitch or space as instructed. If you’re working into the stitch, make sure you go under both sides of the ‘V’.

Step 4: YO around your hook again.

Step 5: pull your hook back through the stitch or space you just inserted it into.

Step 6: you should now have 3 loops on your hook.
